Spaces for dialogue to raise the visibility of women’s work in agriculture

Agriculture has always been a cornerstone of our societies. However, women’s contribution to this sector has often remained in the shadows.

Although women play an essential role in food production, sustainable resource management and the transmission of knowledge, their work continues to be undervalued and poorly recognised.

Changing this reality requires spaces for dialogue where people can reflect on women’s role, share experiences and develop proposals that help make the sector more equitable.

Why spaces for dialogue matter

Recognition and visibility.
The first step towards equality is to make the invisible visible.
Discussion forums where women farmers’ voices can be heard help publicise their work and affirm its importance within the sector.
Sharing experiences and knowledge.
Dialogue is a powerful tool for learning and empowerment. Conversation and the exchange of ideas can generate collective solutions to the challenges women face in agriculture.
Building support networks.
Spaces for discussion encourage reflection while also strengthening connections among women farmers, technicians and other professionals in the sector. These networks are essential for cooperation and for driving new initiatives.
Advancing more equitable policies.
Discussion and greater visibility of inequalities can provide a starting point for structural changes in agricultural policies and in society’s perception of women’s role in farming.

Join the discussion and make your voice count

As part of the Sembrant Visibilitat project, we believe in dialogue as a tool for change. We have therefore created an online discussion forum open to everyone interested in equality in agriculture.

If you would like to share your experience, learn from others and help raise the visibility of women’s role in the agri-food sector, we invite you to take part.

Your voice is essential to building a fairer, more equal future!
