Project
Healthy eating from childhood
Free, family-friendly resources that help children understand where food comes from and build healthy eating habits.

Healthy eating from childhood
Educational resources that help children and their families learn through play about where food comes from and the benefits of a healthy diet
About the project
Cultivating Health is an initiative by the Associació Institut d’Estudis de l’Horta Valenciana, supported by the Regional Ministry of Health, that promotes healthy eating habits from the earliest years of life.
Through games, illustrated activity sheets and downloadable materials, we help children discover the food life cycle and understand where the fruit and vegetables they eat come from.
Our aim is to empower families and improve children’s health by bringing together education, play and community.
Project aims
Promote healthy eating habits from early childhood.
Involve families in their children’s food education.
Encourage learning through play about how fruit and vegetables are grown.
Reduce inequalities in access to nutritional information.
Create free, accessible resources.
Encourage the consumption of locally grown fruit and vegetables.
Why does it matter?
- Childhood obesity: In Spain, one in three children is overweight.
- Low fruit and vegetable consumption: Fewer than half of children eat the recommended daily portions.
- Impact on future health: Eating habits formed in childhood influence health throughout life.
Cultivating Health is our response to this challenge:a project grounded in scientific evidence, family participation and practical education.
