The Generalitat Valenciana has opened the application period for the second Rural Women Entrepreneurship Awards, an initiative that recognises the work, creativity and innovative capacity of women working in rural areas of the Valencian Community.
The aim is to raise the visibility of rural women’s essential role in the economy, culture and sustainability of our towns and villages, while supporting projects that foster local development, economic diversification and action against depopulation.
Purpose of the award
To reward women undertaking projects related to agriculture, livestock farming, forestry, the agri-food industry, food marketing, services associated with these sectors, social inclusion, and activities in rural areas or the Valencian fishing and aquaculture sector, with the aim of recognising the fundamental role and contribution of women whose work supports rural development, sustainability, the revitalisation of their communities and innovation in society.
Who can apply?
- Women living in a rural area of the Valencian Community with a project that has been active for at least one year.
- Legal entities based in the Valencian Community whose management team is led by a woman or has a female majority.
Assessment criteria
Innovation and originality of the project.
Commitment to environmental and social sustainability.
Contribution to slowing depopulation.
Positive impact on the rural community.
