Subsidies intended for citizen entities for the development of citizen participation projects – Year 2023.
With funding from the Ayuntamiento de Valencia for citizen-participation projects, the Association delivered “Defending the Valencian Huerta: Driving Change”. Its activities encouraged citizen participation and strengthened community organisations while raising the profile of the huerta as a productive landscape that provides healthy, locally grown food, reduces carbon emissions and supports decent work for farmers. The project also presented the huerta as a fundamental part of our culture and traditions.
This project has been funded with 2.347,51 € by Ayuntamiento de Valencia.
Survey “La Huerta de Valencia en tus Manos: ¡Comparte tu Opinión!”
An online survey was promoted through posters displayed in the Mestalla neighbourhood and the Distrito Pla del Reial.
The posters have been designed in both Spanish and Valencian.
The survey was very well received by its target audience. Once the response period closed, the answers to each question were interpreted and analysed.
Dissemination on social networks of the project and the Association’s action
The Association is very active on Instagram, raising awareness of the Valencian huerta as part of the region’s natural and cultural heritage and of the need to protect and improve it. The campaign encouraged citizen participation in protecting the huerta and promoted local food production and consumption.
