The Associació Institut d’Estudis de l’Horta Valenciana is launching a new nationwide project: “AgroTech por los Derechos Humanos: Digitalización justa en la agricultura española”. This initiative aims to ensure that the agricultural sector’s digital transformation is fair, ethical and centred on people.
Digitalisation is gradually changing the way we work the land: sensors, applications, management platforms and smart machinery are already part of some agricultural landscapes.

However, this technological transition does not reach everyone equally. On many farms, particularly smaller ones or those that rely on temporary and migrant workers, the digital divide can create new forms of inequality at work.
Through this project, we want to put technology at the service of the people who work the land, not the other way round.
Project activities
Assessment.
We will carry out a nationwide assessment of technology use in agriculture and its impact on human rights.
Online training.
We will launch a free online course for farmers and agricultural workers on fair, ethical and responsible digitalisation.
Awareness campaign.
We will also run an outreach and awareness campaign on social media and digital channels to promote an inclusive, sustainable and human-centred model of digitalisation.
Ultimately, the “AgroTech por los Derechos Humanos” project is founded on the conviction that technological progress only makes sense if it improves people’s lives and strengthens their rights.
Over the coming months, we will share updates, relevant information and materials on our blog and social media. We invite you to follow the initiative and join the discussion about how to build a fairer, more human digital agriculture.
